چکیده

Abstract Aim Abdominal wall closure guidelines recommend the utilization of slow absorption sutures. However, fast sutures are still used for laparoscopic trocar site closure, mainly due to ease handling and availability. We planned a retrospective cohort study, analysing incidence hernia (TSH) depending on suture fascial closure. Materials & Methods A study is carried out including sample 200 patients operated in our centre by any elective procedure, Hasson access technique at umbilical site. Patients were distributed 2 groups, according used: Group-1 Polyglactin, Group-2 Polydioxanone. In both groups needle that was employed had J-shape. open or robotic surgery, reinterventions, previous diagnosis excluded. Results 100 included Group-1, Group-2. The average age 57.34 63.39 years respectively. TSH 20% with an follow up 22.3 months, compared 15% Group-2, follow-up 20.3 months. These differences not statistically significant. 80% diagnosed first 24 months after surgery. Conclusions Likewise existing evidence surgery use probably reduces incidence, without repercussion comorbidity, however, enough prove statistical significance. results should be contrasted further randomized Control Trials.

Prevention of Trocar Site Incisional Hernia Following Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Trocar-site incisional hernia following laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is reported to have a relatively high incidence. The main reasons are trocar diameter and design, pre-existing fascial defects, and some operation- and patient-related factors. The aim of this article to show a new technique of ventral hernia repair that could prevent trocar site incisional hern...

Comparative study of repair of incisional hernia.

Repair of incisional hernias was compared with four different techniques in 55 patients to determine the best method of repair with least chance of recurrence. The maximum incidence of incisional hernia was seen in 30-39 years age group and was most frequently seen after gynaecological surgery (37 cases). Forty eight (88%) patients were operated in emergency by trainee surgeons. Most hernias oc...

assessing effect of fascial non-closure in 10 mm trocar sites on incidence of incisional hernia

background trocar site, incisional hernia is one of the serious complications of laparoscopic surgery. as a result, many surgeons prefer to close the fascia, especially in those sites where a trocar of 10 mm in size or larger has been inserted. on the other hand, suturing the fascia may lead to damage of other tissues, such as the intestines; hence, some surgeons prefer not to close the fascia....

Incisional hernia in a 12-mm non-bladed trocar site following laparoscopic nephrectomy.

Non-bladed trocars, radially-dilating systems, and conical blunt devices are considered less traumatic to the abdominal wall because they do not incise the fascia itself. Consequently, several authors have suggested that closure of the abdominal fascia may be unnecessary if such non-bladed laparoscopic trocars are used. We report of a case in whom a port-site hernia was diagnosed at the site of...
